De Geur van Witte Rijst

THE ULTIMATE BOOK LAUNCH WITH AN INDONESIAN TWIST

RARE organised a day for Han Go, owner of Go-Tan, to launch his cookbook ‘De Geur van Witte Rijst’, which was called the Day of the Indonesian Kitchen. Although it can be thought that, book launches are not very exciting, we wanted to show that this isn’t always the case.

THE BRILLIANT IDEA
Guests were welcomed at the West-Indisch Huis in Amsterdam – the perfect location for this event, in keeping with the theme of the day. They were then treated to a walking dinner of dishes from the book and presented with the first books by Kim-Lian van der Meij. The book is a collection of family recipes and food memories from Indonesia, hence the guests were those who had sent in these recipes and also press. The special guest of the night was, of course, Indonesian master chef Agus Hermawan.

THE WIN-WIN
The goal to make this book launch an exciting event was definitely achieved. The guests enjoyed the evening while enjoying a delicious Indonesian dinner.
